Helsinki Malmi - Airport by Metropolis of General Flying
I go on to Helsinki early in the morning. The weather is nice, only it is yet quite cold at half past five in the morning, local time. The sun warms the air in the afternoon to pleasant 26 to 28 degrees, but it is some 12 degrees now. I ascend to 5000 feet and am afraid to get a little frozen up there. But the outer air temperature begin to rise immediately and it is pleasant 19 degrees in 2000 feet. The air by the ground was probably cooled by the cold Baltic sea. [15.08.2006] [ Finland ] I fly a little south and then over the islands that go along from Sweden to south of Finland. Malmi is a nice airport with quite busy traffic. It is Sunday morning and I land 15 minutes before tower service hours, which saves me about 35 Euro landing fee. Landings out of service hours are free in all Finland. Karoliina Salminen, a TL-96 Star owner, is waiting for me at the airport and gives me full service.
There is about 8 UL aircrafts parking on the airport area, six of which are originally from the Czech Republic. It feels good. Back to list
